WHAT DO YOU DO?
I’m a social entrepreneur who was able to make her dreams a reality through mentorship from c-suite executives and an initial investment in me of $100. Through The Global Good Fund I’m trying to pay it forward by helping global social enterprise leaders amplify their social impact. Through our Fellowship Program, The Global Good Fund develops social entrepreneurs into impactful global leaders by providing executive mentorship, leadership coaching and targeted capital. This trifecta of resources allows our entrepreneurs to accelerate their social impact.
WHY DO YOU DO IT?
The world’s not perfect, but there are great people trying to make it better. People are not perfect, so The Global Good Fund tries to make them better.
WHAT IMPACT ARE YOU MAKING?
Annually we support a minimum of 12 social enterprise leaders, and each of those leaders go on to touch the lives of thousands more people. For example, one of our 2017 Fellows in Colombia has created jobs for more than 14,000 people and those people are finally seeing a path out of poverty.
WHAT (OR WHO) INSPIRES YOU TO MAKE THIS IMPACT?
I am blessed to have a wonderful network of family, friends and colleagues. Not everyone has resources, and I feel responsible for helping people achieve their full potential.
WHAT’S YOUR BIG DREAM FOR THE ORGANIZATION AND THE IMPACT YOU WANT TO MAKE?
There are a lot of organizations like The Global Good Fund. What really sets us apart is our focus on growing people. Confident leaders, scale social enterprises and achieve greater social impact. My goal is to have enough capital to support hundreds of social enterprise leaders each year, and amplify the impact of their social enterprises.
WHAT RESOURCES DO YOU NEED TO MAKE THOSE DREAMS COME TRUE?
In order to make our dreams come true we must continue developing our leadership team and finding new ways to access capital.
WHAT IS (OR HAS BEEN) YOUR BIGGEST CHALLENGE?
I’m a very curious person, so sometimes it’s hard for me to say no to new experiences. Finding a balance is in ongoing challenge, but one that I’m passionate about solving.
WHAT WORDS OF ADVICE DO YOU HAVE FOR OTHER LEADERS LOOKING TO MAKE AN IMPACT?
Build a team of experts around you, so you can focus on the one or two things you know best.
HOW CAN OTHERS SUPPORT YOU OR YOUR CAUSE?
The Global Good Fund believes that growing leaders is the best strategy for solving complex social issues and achieving global good. To accelerate the social impact our Fellows need more capital, more executive mentors and more leadership coaches.
