Annual PR Program

Boys Hope Girls Hope of Colorado’s mission is to get academically motivated children-in-need through high school and help them ultimately earn their college degree. The scholars in the program are bright, talented, and motivated, but often lack the resources and support to finish high school, much less get into and graduate from college. Boys Hope Girls Hope provides structure, mentoring, tutoring, and guidance to these kids to help them break down walls and reach their goals.

Case Study: Boys Hope Girls Hope of Colorado

Objectives

  • Build awareness of BHGH Colorado among targeted audiences (donors, philanthropic companies whose giving is geared toward education, and media and influencers).
  • Position BHGH Colorado as a leading organization to impact high-potential teens who don’t have the resources to further their education.
  • Garner critical acclaim and endorsements from the press and target audiences.

Work

Over the past three years, we have worked to secure press coverage and place stories about Boys Hope Girls Hope as a means to build awareness and generate interest and support. We also managed communications around the organization’s significant program transition, as well as connected local influencers to its annual Martini Party fundraising event as a way to engage with new audiences.

Highlights

We secured notable press placements such as “How a 17-year-old Aurora kid working, living on his own thrived and got accepted to college” (Denver Post), Colorado & Company segment, “The Pivot: Big changes for the greater good” (ColoradoBiz), and “Boys Hope Girls Hope Students Among Select Group to Receive Full-Ride College Scholarships From Daniels Fund” (Denver Post YourHub), to name a few. Results include increased awareness and interest of the organization as well as an increase in donations from both new and lapsed donors as a direct result of our efforts.
