Spring has arrived in Denver! In typical fashion we are seeing temps that range from 20 degrees to 75, and have our snow boots and spring pumps sitting side by side at the back door. Spring marks a season of change and also a great opportunity to freshen up and enliven your marketing efforts. Spring also holds a variety of popular holidays and events, and yields many opportunities to speak to your business’ respective audience and even roll out some fresh messaging.
Here are a few easy ideas to spring your business forward this season:
- Spring Holidays – Mother’s Day, Earth Day, Passover, and Memorial Day will all occur within the coming months. Depending on your business, take advantage of these holidays and launch special promotions that coordinate with the corresponding holiday. For example, on Earth Day your business could launch a social media and in-store campaign whereby $1 of every widget sold gets donated to a local enviro-friendly non-profit or conservation group. This type of feel-good promotion is easy to promote as everyone enjoys supporting a good cause. If marketed and publicized correctly, you should be able to both increase traffic and sales to your business, and also yield some good press coverage.
- March Madness – Even if you aren’t a basketball fan, chances are you will hear everyone else discussing their brackets this month. Take advantage of this trending topic via your social media channels. Don’t be afraid to use your social media feed to cheer on your favorite team, or join the conversation on the tournament. Even if basketball has nothing to do with your business, and chances are it doesn’t, you might find yourself engaging with your audience in a new and fun way. Further, you can use this opportunity to share a bit of the personality behind your brand.
- Head Outdoors – All of your customers are out enjoying the sunshine, go out and meet them. Host a sidewalk sale, or a pop-up market at the closest park. Participate in an outdoor market or festival. Sponsor a 5K or set up a booth at the finish line. Get your business out and about in the comunity.
- Spring Cleaning – Take advantage of everyone’s urge to clean house in the spring. The coming months are a great time to put a little umph into your sales and marketing efforts as many people look to improve their current products, services, and business support tools. Spring is also a great time to launch a new product or service as folks tend to associate this time of year with “new” and “fresh.”
