As Cupid’s big day rapidly approaches, you might be wondering how to show your customers your love and appreciation for their business. While Valentine’s Day is typically associated with couples and romance, it’s also an ideal time to find creative ways to reach out to your customers. The key, however, is doing more than adorning your showroom with paper hearts; it’s finding thoughtful ways to reach your client base. Here are some unique ways that your business can celebrate Valentine’s Day:

Host a themed sale day. Encourage customers to get in the Valentine’s Day spirit! Invite them to wear pink or red to your business on the 14th— and then reward them with special discounts.

Show some social media love. Beginning February 1st, post your favorite quotes about love and relationships on your company’s Twitter or Facebook page. Share one quote a day until Valentine’s Day. Make sure to relate these affectionate quotes to the appreciation you have for your customers!

Fourteen days of giveaways! Consider hosting giveaways for each day leading up to Valentine’s Day. Have drawings for inexpensive (but desirable!) products as the big day approaches. Then, on February 14th, have a grand prize drawing. The grand prize might be a gift basket consisting of several of your products or even a weekend getaway for two!

Host a Valentine’s Day card workshop. Invite kids to your store for a crafty Saturday afternoon of card making. Select a deserving group to receive the cards– perhaps patients at a local children’s hospital, troops serving overseas, or senior citizens in a nearby retirement home. Be sure to take pictures of the fun activities to share on your website or social media page!

Use a client’s business to send out goodies. If you work with other businesses, consider using one of their services to send gifts to customers, associates, and even family members. You don’t have to work specifically with a florist or candy shop for this to work; get creative with your gift ideas! Your clients will always appreciate the extra business.

Stick to tradition. There’s nothing wrong with going the traditional route for Valentine’s Day. What business wouldn’t appreciate a pretty flower arrangement for their lobby? You can never go wrong with a custom box of chocolates– especially one with your company’s logo printed on the front.
