The organization creates programs for underserved students, schools, and communities via comic books, graphic novels, and related media. Case Study: Pop Culture Classroom

Objective

Educate parents about Pop Culture Classroom’s new educational summer camp series and build greater awareness for the organization as a whole.

Work

In order to spread the word about the upcoming summer camps and overall programming at Pop Culture Classroom, we deployed a number of PR and marketing strategies including:

  • A press and influencer open house event to educate local media, bloggers, and influencers on both the grand opening of the new classroom space as well as upcoming programming and camps
  • Traditional press release and media outreach in concert with the classroom launch and to announce the summer camp series
  • A series of articles for Denver Post’s YourHub to serve as both announcements for upcoming programming and to tell the greater story of Pop Culture Classroom’s mission, values, and services

Highlights

As a result of our efforts, the campaign resulted in 13 pieces of media coverage including feature articles in Confluence Colorado, and both print and online editions of 5280 Magazine. The Denver Post YourHub article series was an effective way to remain top of mind throughout the spring and summer and helped tell the larger story of Pop Culture Classroom and the programming offered. Several of the YourHub series articles also appeared in the print edition of the Denver Post. As a result of awareness generated by media outreach and coverage, Pop Culture Classroom’s inaugural season of summer camps was well attended by Denver area students.
